Job summary

Alewijnse in Nijmegen is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to work on the design and implementation of control software for maritime applications. You will collaborate with various engineering teams and tackle technical challenges while developing your expertise in PLC and HMI systems.

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from €3,400 to €4,000, career development opportunities, and excellent work conditions as stipulated in the Metal and Technology collective agreement. Enjoy 25 vacation days and 13 additional days off.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley, or similar).
• Strong interest in maritime technology and automation systems.
• Good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
• Fluency in Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

Job description

As a Junior Software Engineer, you'll be involved from day one in the design, programming, and implementation of control software for maritime installations. With the guidance of a mentor, you'll learn step by step how to develop software for PLC and HMI systems used onboard vessels.

Your tasks will include:

• Designing and developing control software for maritime applications.
• Testing and commissioning systems, both on-site and onboard.
• Analyzing and solving technical issues.
• Collaborating with software, hardware, and electrical engineering teams.
• Contributing ideas to optimize processes and systems.
