Job summary

Telespazio Belgium is seeking a highly skilled Junior Small Satellites Engineer to work at ESTEC in the Netherlands as a contractor. You will support In-Orbit Technology Demonstration Projects with system engineering, requirements, and verification activities.

The role requires a Master’s in Physics or Engineering, experience in reviews, procurement monitoring, and knowledge of space missions. We offer a relocation package, hybrid work, 30 days leave, health insurance, and a training budget.

Qualifications

• Experience participating in reviews.
• Procurement and technical monitoring experience.
• Familiar with Space Engineering Standards and their implementation.
• Knowledge of space missions and spacecraft systems design.
• Understanding of space systems architectures.
• Systems engineering in early project phases (trade-offs, budgets, critical tech).

Responsibilities

• Provide system engineering support for In-Orbit Technology Demonstration Projects based on Small Satellites.
• Support development phases and lifetime with system engineering input.
• Assist in system architectures and operations concepts.
• Assist in design definition for subsystems and interfaces.
• Manage system requirements and traceability in the requirements database.
• Support design trade-offs and driver identification for budgets.
• Contribute to verification activities at system and subsystems levels.
• Identify technical risks and propose mitigations; monitor risk evolution.
• Interface with engineering disciplines and PA/QA functions.
• Coordinate with external interfaces: launch services, flight operations, mission users.
• Contribute to end-to-end mission performance simulators and models.
• Support launch preparation, LEOP, and in-orbit commissioning activities.
• Assist in monitoring industrial activities and participate in reviews.
