Telespazio Belgium, with ESTEC in the Netherlands, seeks a highly skilled Human Spaceflight Safety Support Engineer to work on safety certification across flight and ground segments. The role requires clearance eligibility and experience in spaceflight safety processes across ESA projects.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in the relevant field.
• Proven knowledge and background in spaceflight safety certification.
• Dependability engineering within human spaceflight.
• Knowledge of ECSS and NASA standards.
• Use of product assurance tools and methods.

Responsibilities

• Support safety requirements across flight and ground segment hardware and software.
• Review contractor plans and safety programme documentation.
• Assist major safety reviews to validate safe design for ground, launch and flight operations.
• Support mission operations during preparation and execution, including CoFR and safety data handling.
• Contribute to safety assessments of astronauts, launch vehicles, and spacecraft safety.
• Support verification of safety processes for institutional and commercial destinations.
• Capture and report safety issues, deviations, and non-conformances.
• Generate weekly activity reports with conclusions and recommendations.
