Job summary

Arup in Amsterdam is seeking a junior Project Manager to grow your project management experience across diverse projects in industrial, research, and digital infrastructure. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage schedules and documentation, and help ensure milestones are met.

You will monitor progress, risks, and costs, support governance decisions, and facilitate client–team communication with well-prepared meetings.

Qualifications

  • Completed degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Initial experience gained through engineering, construction, or consulting projects, via graduate roles, internships, or student positions.
  • Interest in industrial, research, infrastructure, or mission-critical facilities and the ambition to contribute in a technically demanding environment.
  • Basic understanding of local and international project delivery standards with strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in international, multidisciplinary teams with very good Dutch and good English skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams with Project Managers and Design Managers to drive complex projects forward.
  • Manage project schedules, deliverables, documentation, milestones, and next steps.
  • Monitor progress, risks, costs, and timelines to support governance and informed decisions.
  • Facilitate communication between clients and internal teams with well-prepared planning and coordination of meetings.
  • Contribute to quality standards and project reporting while developing expertise in project planning and delivery.
  • Take on increasing independent responsibilities and grow toward managing your own projects.

In this role, you will further develop your project management experience in a targeted and structured way. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will support a diverse range of projects across the industrial, research, and digital infrastructure sectors, gradually taking on greater responsibility. You will gain exposure to different project phases, coordinate key stakeholders, and contribute to the structured and successful delivery of projects.

As a (Junior) Project Manager At Arup, You Will
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams together with Project Managers and Design Managers, helping to drive complex projects forward in a structured and efficient manner
  • Manage and maintain project schedules, deliverables, and documentation, ensuring transparency around progress, milestones, and next steps
  • Actively monitor project progress, risks, costs, and timelines, supporting reliable project governance and informed decision-making
  • Facilitate effective communication between clients and internal teams, ensuring clarity and alignment through well-prepared planning and coordination of meetings
  • Contribute to quality standards and project reporting while building valuable expertise in project planning and professional project delivery processes
  • Take on increasingly independent responsibilities as your experience grows and develop step by step towards managing your own projects
