Job summary

3devo B.V. is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to strengthen our R&D team in the Utrecht area. You will define technical specifications, design mechanical concepts, and contribute to making our filament extrusion and recycling technologies more robust and up to date.

You’ll work in a small, multidisciplinary team, collaborate with production for practical assembly, and test prototypes. Experience with 3D CAD (Onshape preferred) and a hands-on, structured approach are essential, along with

Qualifications

• Completed HBO/Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Several years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a technical/industrial setting.
• Fluency in English (Dutch is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Take the lead in defining technical specifications.
• Design mechanical concepts and systems.
• Contribute to the quality and completeness of functional specifications.
• Identify and select suitable suppliers for required components.
• Document design decisions and processes.
• Collaborate with the production team to ensure efficient and practical assembly of end products.

Your mission

About the position
3devo B.V. is looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team. We are a leading innovator in the field of plastic recycling and processing technologies for additive manufacturing. Our product range includes filament extruders and shredders, all designed, developed, and manufactured in-house. Recently, we launched the latest iteration of our Filament Maker Two and are actively developing a range of add-ons to further enhance our machines.
At 3devo, your work truly makes an impact. Our machines are used by clients all over the world. As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in keeping our products up to date with the latest technologies. You'll tackle a variety of technical challenges, and no two days will be the same. In our small but multidisciplinary team, you’ll work both independently and collaboratively. You’ll contribute to the improvement of existing products and be involved in new developments from concept through to series production. We're searching for someone who is interested in the 3D printing industry and is genuinely passionate about its future.

Your profile

What we’re looking for

• Working on sight, living within travel distance of Utrecht
• A completed higher professional degree (HBO/Bachelor's) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Several years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or similar role in a technical or industrial setting
• Affinity with the 3D printing industry
• A hands-on, structured, and practical approach to work
• Fluency in English (Dutch is a plus)
• A team player with a proactive attitude and strong attention to detail
