Job summary

Vistra in Amsterdam is seeking a Junior Financial Services Accountant, Private Equity, to support accounting services for private equity clients and contribute to the Funds team's integrity and reporting. You will work under the guidance of senior colleagues and interact with clients to ensure accurate monthly close and statutory reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience with Dutch GAAP in accounting or audit contexts.
• 0–3 years of experience in accounting or audit.

Responsibilities

• Compile and review financial statements and filings.
• Set up payroll journals per cost centre and coordinate payroll payments.
• Perform bookkeeping tasks under Dutch GAAP and US GAAP, including accruals, intercompany entries, and reconciliations.
• Prepare distributions and capital contributions; generate cash flow statements.
• Coordinate CIT & VAT returns and assist with statutory audits.
• Support the relationship manager and client contacts with accounting requests.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Junior Financial Services Accountant, Private Equity, reporting to a Senior Manager. This role is based in Amsterdam and has a regional focus enabling you to make a significant impact to our Funds business and its growth.

Purpose Of Role

You will deliver accounting services and advice to Private Equity firms. This sector specific Accounting Team consists of a manager and 12 accountants. Together with the other accountants in the team, you will provide the best service to your client portfolio in terms of ensuring the integrity of accounting records, providing customised interim reports, assisting on complex client transactions and coordinating the VAT and CIT calculations with the Tax Advisor. As Junior Accountant in the team, you work within the team of professionals and you will receive guidance from Seniors within the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Compilation and review of Financial Statements and filing with Dutch Trade Register;
• Prepare/set up monthly payroll journals per cost centre, as specified by the client and coordination of payroll related payments;
• BFI reporting with Dutch Central Bank;
• Bookkeeping (accruals, interest calculations, sales entries, movements in investment property, lease incentives, intangibles, service charges reconciliations according to Dutch GAAP but also US GAAP principle) and additional bookkeeping tasks (debtors, creditors, bank, payroll journals, accruals etc.);
• Preparing distributions and capital contribution requests
• Preparing cash flow statements
• Preparation of Client specific monthly reporting and reconciliation of balance sheet items and accounts;
• Preparation and coordination of CIT & VAT returns;
• Preparation audit file and assistance with statutory audits
• Following up, and coordination on client specific accounting requests;
• Client contact in order to support relationship manager;
• Relationship manager contact on internal Vistra matters;
• Regulatory transaction monitoring.
• Assisting in payment preparation etc.

Relevant Experience

• Experienced in Dutch GAAP
• 0-3 years of experience (audit or accounting);

Education / Professional Qualifications

• Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance (e.g.. Accounting, Business Economics, Business Administration).
