Job summary

MFS (Mechanical Field Support B.V.) is seeking a Field Service Engineer to deliver maintenance, technical support, and supervision for gas turbines worldwide. You will install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair turbines at customer sites across the globe, with onshore and offshore assignments.

Initial comprehensive training at our Netherlands HQ and hands-on guidance will prepare you for approximately 70% international travel.

Qualifications

• BBL or degree in engineering required.
• Reading and interpreting drawings preferred.
• Good English communication skills (spoken and written).
• Residence in the Netherlands or willingness to relocate there.
• Valid European driving license.
• Experience in gas turbine industry or other technical field is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Deliver maintenance, technical support, and supervision for gas turbines (aeroderivative and heavy-duty).
• Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair gas turbines at customer sites worldwide (onshore and offshore).
• Coordinate and supervise contracted crews on site, ensuring safe, efficient work to high standards.

About the Role

As an MFS Field Service Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering maintenance, technical support, and supervision for both aeroderivative and heavy-duty gas turbines. You will be involved in installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing gas turbines at customer facilities across the globe — both onshore and offshore. Depending on the project scope, you may also take responsibility for coordinating and supervising contracted crews on site, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standards.

You will start your journey with comprehensive training and coaching at our headquarters in the Netherlands, complemented by hands‑on guidance from experienced colleagues in the field. This combination of structured training and practical learning reflects how MFS develops its engineers and builds long‑term expertise. After completing your training period, you can expect to spend approximately 70% of your time working internationally. When you are not traveling or working on‑site, you will be based in our workshop in Heteren, collaborating with colleagues and preparing for upcoming assignments.

About you

You are driven and eager to learn. You are passionate about gas turbines. You love to travel, working both independently and with colleagues as a team.

• A technical qualification (BBL or degree) in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, aeronautical engineering, mechatronics or electrical engineering.

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, piping, and instrumentation drawings (preferred).

• Good English communication skills (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.

• Living in the Netherlands or willing and able to relocate to the Netherlands.

• Valid European driving license.

• Experience in the gas turbine industry or another technical field is an advantage.
