Job summary

MFS, an internationally operating gas turbine company, seeks a Field Service Engineer to maintain, advise on, and supervise aeroderivative and heavy duty gas turbines. You will install, start up, and repair turbines at client sites worldwide, including offshore projects.

You will travel extensively (about 70%) and based at our workshop in Heteren when not on assignments. A degree in mechanical or related engineering, five years of field service experience, and fluency in English are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in field service work.
• Degree in mechanical engineering, automotive, aviation, mechatronics, electrical engineering or similar.
• In-depth knowledge of Aeroderivative and/or Heavy duty gas turbines.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, piping, and instrumentation drawings.
• Good English communication skills (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance, technical advice and supervision for aeroderivative and heavy duty gas turbines.
• Install, start up and repair gas turbines at client facilities worldwide, on- and offshore.
• Manage contracted crew for the specific scope of work as required.
• Travel approximately 70% of the time and work offshore primarily in Europe, USA and Asia.
• Be coached at headquarters with on-the-job training and regular support from your manager.

About the Role

As an MFS field service engineer your primary tasks are to provide maintenance, technical advice and supervision for aeroderivative and heavy duty gas turbines. You will be installing, starting up and repairing gas turbines in our clients facilities worldwide, on- and offshore. Depending on the assignment, you will be managing contracted crew for the specific scope of work.

You will be coached and trained at the headquarters. In addition, your colleagues provide you with an on-the-job training. Your manager will be in touch with you on a regular basis to support you on your work/training. You will be working abroad for approximately 70% of the time. When you are not traveling or working on-site, you will be based in our workshop in Heteren.

About you

You are driven and eager to learn. You are passionate about gas turbines. You love to travel, working both independently and with colleagues as a team.

Minimum of five (5) years of experience and a proven track record of various executed field service jobs.

Degree in mechanical engineering, automotive, aviation, mechatronics, electrical engineering or similar. You may also have gained this level of knowledge by experience.

In depth knowledge of Aeroderivative and/or Heavy duty gas turbines.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical, piping, and instrumentation drawings.

Good English communication skills (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.

Willingness to travel frequently and to work Offshore (mainly Europe, USA and Asia).
