Job summary

Lely, Maassluis Campus, is seeking an embedded software engineer to design, implement, and test software for our advanced robotics systems in dairy farming. You’ll contribute to data structures, performance optimizations, and long-term product stability within a multidisciplinary team.

You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with stakeholders to define features that improve animal welfare and farmer quality of life, while growing your skills at the Lely Academy on a modern campus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • Strong experience with C++ and developing complex systems (Python 3.7+ a plus).
  • Experience with Embedded Linux, Git, and CI/CD systems; Agile Scrum teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and test embedded software.
  • Optimize data structures and algorithms for reliable performance.
  • Maintain existing software and support improvements.
  • Ensure quality through design, code reviews, and unit/integration testing.
  • Address technical debt and contribute to product stability.
  • Participate in Agile process by setting goals and managing risks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define features improving farmers' lives.

  • Designing, implementing, and testing embedded software
  • Optimizing data structures and algorithms for reliable, production-ready performance

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • Strong experience with C++ and confidence in developing complex systems (knowledge of Python 3.7+ is a plus)
  • Experience with Embedded Linux and Git (cyber security and CI/CD systems are a a plus)
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary Agile Scrum teams
  • Openness to feedback, curiosity about new ideas, and a motivation to keep learning
  • Comfortable asking questions, raising concerns, and contributing to a supportive team environment
