Junior Application Governance Specialist

Location: Tegelen, Limburg, Netherlands | Employment type: Full-time | Seniority level: Entry level | Industry: Retail | Function: Information Technology

We are looking for an eCommerce Application Governance Specialist who loves structure, security, and control. Someone who ensures our growing digital landscape runs safely and efficiently with no exceptions. You will take ownership of governance processes across hundreds of applications, making sure data protection, access management, and compliance are always up to standard. You will:

• Take ownership of governance processes across 300+ eCommerce applications and systems, ensuring secure and compliant management.
• Audit and clean up user base, optimize access rights, minimize data storage and ensure secure login within applications usage to meet regulations (e.g. GDPR) and internal standards.
• Define and implement clear processes for access management, onboarding/offboarding, and data protection.
• Collaborate with business owners, application managers, and architects to drive operational excellence.
• Continuously monitor, audit, and improve application governance performance across all eCommerce domains.

We ask:

• 2 years of experience in application management, governance, or process improvement (preferably in eCommerce);
• Strong understanding of GDPR and related data protection and security regulations applicable to digital commerce;
• Familiarity with SaaS applications like Salesforce, Zendesk, SAP, and Nexus is a plus;
• Basic technical understanding of how applications interact (APIs, authentication, integrations);
• High sense of ownership, curiosity, and persistence, being able to navigate complex organizations;
• Based in the Netherlands, able to travel occasionally if needed (approx. 3 times per year) and work from the office at least 3 days a week.
