Job summary

Multi.engineering is seeking a Work Preparator & Project Engineer in Vlissingen, the Netherlands, for a 6-month freelance/project contract. You will join a multidisciplinary team on-site to analyse orders, assess feasibility, and prepare technical specifications and CAD drawings for steel structures and systems.

You will develop plans, lifting strategies, and risk assessments, while evaluating supplier quotations and monitoring orders.

Qualifications

• MBO level 4 or HBO in Naval Architecture/MAROF, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Analyse work orders and determine which activities need to be carried out.
• Assess the technical feasibility and manufacturability of the required work.
• Prepare technical specifications for steel structures, components, equipment and systems.
• Develop technical plans and create conceptual designs and CAD drawings.
• Prepare lifting plans and risk assessments for heavy lifting and transport operations.
• Technically evaluate supplier quotations and monitor orders and deliveries.
• Inspect work on-site and provide technical solutions to questions from clients, colleagues and subcontractors.
• Collaborate daily with procurement, QC, project management, production and purchasing to monitor progress.

Role: Work Preparator & Project Engineer

Location: Vlissingen, the Netherlands

Duration: 6 months

Contract: Freelance or project contract

You will contribute to a variety of technical challenges and projects within an international ship repair environment.

What You'll Do

• You are part of a multidisciplinary team of approximately 20 colleagues, including work preparators, project managers, cost controllers, QC specialists, planners and document controllers. You coordinate closely with them on-site.
• You analyse work orders and determine which activities need to be carried out.
• You assess the technical feasibility and manufacturability of the required work.
• You prepare technical specifications for steel structures, components, equipment and systems.
• You develop technical plans and create conceptual designs and CAD drawings.
• You prepare lifting plans and risk assessments for heavy lifting and transport operations.
• You technically evaluate supplier quotations and monitor orders and deliveries.

Profile

Do you have what it takes?

• You have an MBO level 4/HBO in Naval Architecture/MAROF, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar study.
• You have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• You have knowledge of AutoCAD.
