Job summary

JD.com is offering a Finance Business Partner Internship in Rotterdam, designed to give hands-on exposure to real projects and responsibilities within a global business. Over 3–6 months, you’ll work with the Head of Finance for Logistics EU, gaining insights into how a multinational operates and building fundamental finance skills.

This role is suitable for early-career talent with a data-driven mindset, cultural awareness, and strong communication abilities, and may lead to a JD Star Graduate

Responsibilities

• Provide functional support to the Finance Business Partner team, managing reporting and small projects across Logistics.
• Lead and participate in cross-cultural meetings between Chinese and Non-Chinese stakeholders.
• Assist with analytics, reporting, and stakeholder communication to derive actionable insights.

About Your Program

You’ll be joining the JD Young (JDY) Internship Program, designed to give early-career talent hands‑on exposure to real projects, real responsibilities, and real growth. Over 3-6 months, you'll work alongside experienced teams, build fundamental skills, and gain insights into how a global business operates.

Join JD.com as a Finance Business Partner Intern with opportunity to convert to a JD Star Graduate Finance Business Partner.

You'll work closely with the Head of Finance for Logistics EU, who'll act as your mentor - while you also give real support back to them. You'll be a genuine cultural bridge, bringing awareness and managing relationships across teams, and you'll get hands‑on with real operations, not mundane tasks.

• Provide functional support to the Finance Business Partner team - managing reporting, running small projects and collaborating with stakeholders across the Logistics business
• Cross cultural working - Lead meetings and improve ways of working between Chinese and Non-Chinese stakeholders
• Analytics - Whilst this isn't an analyst role we'll be needing your help to managing reporting and stakeholder communication. Understanding data trends and turning them into insight is key for the running of the team.

About you

We're not looking for someone who's done it all before - what matters most is your mindset and motivation:

• Fluent in Mandarin and English - able to communicate fluently in both languages in a professional setting.
• A data-led, analytical mindset - comfortable with numbers, finance concepts and data (we're not needing accountants though)
• Cultural awareness - You have a deep understanding of Chinese and European cultures. And know how to connect between the two.
• High learning agility - you pick things up quickly and love to grow
• Operationally minded - you understand how real-world operations work and like getting stuck in
• Strong communication & relationship skills - you build trust and manage relationships across cultures
• Curious and hands‑on - you ask questions, explore, and make things happen

No prior internship experience is needed, though a solid understanding of finance data and concepts is important. This role would be great for someone looking to work in a commercial or relationship based finance role. It might not be great for someone looking for a role in Banking, Investments or Consulting.
