Job summary

Adyen in Amsterdam is seeking a Java Software Engineer for our payments platform. You will work on the full development cycle from design to production, focusing on a scalable payments engine and interfaces for merchants worldwide.

You will join a global team, own features end-to-end, and contribute to high-throughput services using Java, REST, and PostgreSQL. Office-based role, no remote-only work.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java, web services, REST APIs and SQL / PostgreSQL.
• Experience deploying high-throughput and highly reliable services.
• Able to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain our distributed high-performance platform.
• Be part of a diverse and inclusive team.
• Launch fast and iterate often; bring code live early in the process.
• Fully responsible from initial design to bringing new functionality live.
• Identify and improve parts of the platform to be more robust and scalable.
• Collaborate across teams and time zones to review code and drive quality.
