Job summary

Tribe28 is seeking a talented Java / Kotlin Developer to join our team. You will design, develop, and maintain backend applications, contributing across the full software development life cycle.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with Java and Kotlin, and familiarity with Spring Boot, Hibernate, RESTful APIs, and microservices. You will work in Utrecht on-site with a collaborative team, delivering scalable software for major clients.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Java and/or Kotlin and core concepts.
• Experience with Spring Boot and Hibernate.
• Knowledge of database concepts and SQL.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java and Kotlin-based applications.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with Java and/or Kotlin and enjoys building high-quality, scalable software solutions. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend applications while participating in all phases of the software development life cycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java and Kotlin-based applications;
• Participate in the full software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve software defects;
• Write clean, scalable, maintainable, and efficient code;
• Develop unit and integration tests to ensure software quality;
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather, refine, and implement software requirements;
• Contribute to code reviews and continuously improve development practices.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Java and/or Kotlin and their core concepts;
• Experience with popular JVM frameworks such as Spring (Spring Boot) and ORM frameworks like Hibernate;
• Knowledge of database concepts and experience with SQL;
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices is a plus;
• Experience with frontend frameworks such as Angular or React is a plus;
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban;
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
