Job summary

Tavant Technologies is seeking a data engineer to design and implement scalable data ingestion, transformation pipelines, and analytics-ready models using Java. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and focus on data quality, governance, and performance.

Candidates should have experience with Hadoop or Spark, SQL/NoSQL, ETL, and cloud platforms. Nice to have a CS/engineering degree and Agile experience.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java with OO design principles.
• Experience with Hadoop, Spark or similar big data frameworks.
• Familiarity with SQL, NoSQL and data warehousing concepts.
• Knowledge of ETL tools and data transformation.
• Cloud experience (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud).
• Ability to write efficient queries and optimize DB performance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Nice to have: Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering and data engineering experience; familiarity with visualization tools; Agile experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data ingestion and transformation pipelines in Java.
• Develop data models and database schemas to support apps and analytics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate data requirements into specs.
• Ensure data quality and integrity through testing and validation.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance issues.
• Optimize data storage and retrieval while complying with data governance.
