Java Backend Engineer

Do you want to work as a Java backend engineer building scalable and robust backend solutions within large corporates where performance and reliability are essential? Through Solid Professionals, you will work on a substantive assignment at organisations such as ING, KPN and Eneco. You contribute to backend systems that play a critical role in digital services and business critical processes.

As a Java backend engineer, you design, develop and maintain backend applications in complex environments. You work on scalable services and APIs and contribute to the quality, performance and maintainability of the platform. Depending on your experience, you take ownership of parts of the backend architecture, contribute to technical decisions and act as a sparring partner for other engineers, product owners and architects. The exact scope differs per assignment, but the core remains the same: delivering stable and future proof backend solutions.

• a completed bachelor’s or master’s degree, for example in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a comparable field
• a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Java backend engineer or in a similar role
• strong experience with Java and modern Java frameworks
• experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services
• knowledge of software architecture, design patterns and clean code principles
• experience with databases and data modelling
• experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD and DevOps principles is a plus
• experience working in agile and DevOps environments
• you live in the Netherlands and are available full time
