The Role

The IT Manager is accountable for leading the local IT department and for directing the day‑to‑day IT policy, stability, support, resilience and continuous improvement of Bmodesto’s technology services. The role combines hands‑on operational leadership with effective supplier management, coaching of IT colleagues and close partnership with Group Technology, site leadership and the Executive Board. A core objective is to maintain an operational, technical and IT‑wide overview of business processes and to reduce key‑person dependency by broadening and documenting knowledge of critical business systems, including the Xelion ERP environment. The role will own business‑as‑usual IT operations, ensure appropriate use of ICT hardware and software across the organisation, and support technology readiness for priority change initiatives, including the G‑Park go‑live and the transition towards Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.

  2. Business applications and knowledge resilience: Build, document and retain operational knowledge of critical local business systems, with particular focus on the Xelion ERP environment. Establish and maintain system documentation, support procedures, recovery information, dependency maps and knowledge‑transfer plans. Coordinate application support with business process owners, existing subject‑matter experts, Group Technology and external partners. Ensure risks arising from single points of knowledge, unsupported components or unclear ownership are identified and actively managed. Ensure the ERP environment is implemented, maintained and supported in line with business needs and agreed operational controls.
  3. Cybersecurity, continuity and compliance: Implement and operate Group Technology and Information Security requirements within the Bmodesto environment. Maintain local backup, recovery, continuity and disaster‑recovery arrangements and support periodic testing. Support the timely remediation of vulnerabilities, audit findings and technology risks. Operate in accordance with applicable quality, data‑protection, security and regulatory requirements, with specific obligations confirmed by the relevant Quality, Legal, Privacy and Information Security functions.
  4. Supplier and service‑level management: Manage the operational performance of third‑party technology providers against agreed services, service levels, actions and escalations. Maintain clear support responsibilities between Bmodesto, Group Technology and external suppliers. Review supplier performance, risks, costs and service improvement opportunities, escalating material issues promptly. Periodically reassess software and hardware supplier contracts in consultation with procurement, finance, legal and relevant business stakeholders.
  5. Delivery of local technology change: Lead or support local technology changes and projects in accordance with Group governance, architecture, security and change‑control requirements. Support technology readiness, cutover, stabilisation and handover to operations for the G‑Park go‑live and the transition towards Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. Assess business requirements and recommend proportionate, supportable solutions aligned with Group standards. Ensure new or changed services have agreed ownership, support documentation, monitoring, recovery arrangements and operational acceptance before go‑live. Monitor developments in IT and adjacent fields and advise management on relevant opportunities, risks and improvement areas. Identify, discuss and implement improvement opportunities in consultation with the Executive Board and relevant leadership stakeholders.
