iOS Engineer - MedTech, Swift & Compliance

Job summary

ViCentra is seeking an experienced Software Engineer, iOS, to join our growing in-house mobile engineering team and drive the Kaleido app forward. You will own the iOS codebase, mentor engineers, and ensure quality and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced MedTech environment.

The role emphasizes design, implementation, and leadership across the full mobile SDLC, with collaboration across cross-functional teams to deliver robust, user-centric software for regulated medical devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software/computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional iOS development experience with Swift.
• Experience across all development stages, including architecture, testing, release and maintenance.
• Strong testing practices for embedded applications (unit and integration).
• Fluent English communication.
• Preferred: medical devices or regulated software industry.
• Preferred: familiarity with IEC 60601-1, IEC 62304, IEC 62366, ISO 14971, ISO 13485, and FDA 21 CFR 820.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain iOS applications (Swift) used with ViCentra's medical devices.
• Lead and contribute to projects across the full software development lifecycle, from concept and architecture through testing, release, and maintenance.
• Set technical direction and coding standards for the iOS codebase, writing clean, well-structured, and testable code.
• Lead peer code reviews and mentor less experienced engineers, driving knowledge sharing across the mobile team.
• Support verification, validation, and release activities, including required quality system documentation.
• Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System and applicable medical device standards.
• Collaborate with usability, testing, systems, cloud, quality, and regulatory teams.
• Contribute to building a best-in-class mobile development environment within a regulated context.
• Stay current with iOS and mobile development trends, raising the technical bar.
