Job summary

ViCentra B.V. is seeking an experienced iOS Software Engineer to help evolve the Kaleido App with a focus on safety, compliance, and user-centric design.

You will join a growing in-house mobile team and help drive ownership as the app moves from external partner delivery to in-house ownership. The role combines hands-on Swift development with setting technical direction, mentoring engineers, and collaborating across regulatory, quality, and usability teams to ensure robust, compliant software

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software/comp. engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years of professional iOS experience in Swift
• Experience across all development stages including architecture, testing, and release
• Solid testing practices for embedded apps (unit/integration)
• Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication
• Preferred: medical devices or regulated software experience
• Preferred: familiarity with IEC 60601-1, IEC 62304, IEC 62366, ISO 14971, ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820

Your Impact

As Software Engineer, iOS, you'll be a contributor to ViCentra's growing in-house mobile engineering team and to the long-term evolution of the Kaleido App. The app is currently built by an external partner, and once delivered, full ownership transitions to ViCentra and to the team you'll help lead. You'll take the app forward through maintenance, enhancement, and future feature development, keeping it robust, user-focused, and compliant with medical-device regulations.

This is a hands-on engineering role with real-world impact, building iOS software in Swift that interfaces with regulated medical devices and is used every day by people who depend on it. Working closely with the Mobile Engineering Manager and cross-functional teams, you'll set technical direction and coding standards for the iOS codebase, mentor less experienced engineers, and directly shape patient safety, product quality, and ViCentra's ability to scale its technology globally.

What You’ll Take On

In your role, you will:

• Design, implement, and maintain iOS applications (Swift) used in conjunction with ViCentra's medical devices.
• Lead and contribute to projects across the full software development lifecycle, from concept and architecture through testing, release, and maintenance.
• Set technical direction and coding standards for the iOS codebase, writing clean, well-structured, and testable code aligned with design specifications and best practices.
• Lead peer code reviews and mentor less experienced engineers, driving knowledge sharing across the mobile team.
• Support verification, validation, and release activities, including the required quality system documentation.
• Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System and applicable medical device standards.
• Collaborate closely with usability, testing, systems, cloud, quality, and regulatory teams.
• Contribute to building a best-in-class mobile development environment within a regulated context.
• Stay current with iOS and mobile development trends, continuously raising the technical bar for the team.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in software/computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
• An extensive track record in iOS development with Swift, 5+ years of professional experience.
• Experience across all development stages, including software architecture and design, testing, release, and maintenance.
• Solid understanding of software testing practices for embedded applications, including unit and integration testing.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills, with fluency in English.
• A proven track record of delivering to time within a multi-disciplinary project team.
• (preferred) experience in the medical devices or regulated software industry.
• (preferred) familiarity with standards such as IEC 60601-1, IEC 62304, IEC 62366, ISO 14971, ISO 13485, and FDA 21 CFR 820.
• (preferred) experience with automated testing for mobile applications, Android development, or cloud backend development for app data.
