Job summary

DRIFT is seeking a Production Intern to join our team and support the Production Department in assembling, testing, and installing artworks worldwide. You will collaborate with engineers and artists in a dynamic studio environment, contributing to hands-on fabrication and on-site maintenance.

The role invites a proactive student or recent graduate from a technical field with CAD knowledge, strong English, and a passion for art, design, and technology.

Qualifications

• Current study or recent graduation in a technical field (MBO 1-3 level).
• Experience with assembly of technical components or CAD.
• Able to speak English and collaborate in a diverse team.
• Eligible to work in the Netherlands with a valid visa or permit.

A Day in the Life of a Production Intern

As a Production Intern, you will be part of the Production Department that physically builds the artworks and takes care of installation on site (all over the world) and maintenance. The Production Intern will help to assemble and test the work in the studio. You will work in a multidisciplinary team that consists of specialists in Engineering and Art. No days are the same, nor are the projects.

In addition, you will be:

• Installing artworks
• Solving technical difficulties
• Assisting with Studio activities
• Working in a fun and energetic team

We would love it if you have:

• You are currently studying at / recently graduated from a technical MBO 1-3 level
• Relevant experience with one or more of the following disciplines: assembly of technical components, knowledge of materials, CAD skills, mechanical and electrical engineering
• An assertive and self-developing mindset.
• Effective problem-solving skills and a commitment to resolving technical and/or esthetical challenges efficiently.
• The ability to work as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
• You are doing an Art, Design, or Technical Education in which you specialize in one of the above-mentioned fields.
• Excellent command of the English language.
• Eligibility to work in the Netherlands with a valid visa or permit (hard requirement)\
