Zusammenfassung

Haskoning is seeking a motivated intern to advance offshore wake modelling in the EuroWindWakes project. You will join experts at the interface of measurements, atmospheric modelling and engineering wake models in the Netherlands.

You will process LiDAR and buoy data using Python and help define benchmark scenarios for wake validation. The internship offers mentorship, flexible hours and a 750€ monthly allowance, with hybrid working within international projects.

Qualifikationen

• Enrolled in a Master’s programme in wind energy, atmospheric science, physics, engineering, data science or a related field.
• Experience with Python.
• Interest in offshore wind energy, atmospheric flow or numerical modelling.
• Communicate confidently in English and available to start as soon as possible for at least 4 months; duration/hours to be agreed.

Help improve how the offshore wind sector predicts wind farm wake effects. You will contribute to EuroWindWakes, a European research project that compares advanced models with independent measurements and tests future North Sea wind farm scenarios. The preferred start date is as soon as possible, and the internship lasts at least four months.

What you will do as an intern

You will join a team working at the interface of offshore measurements, atmospheric modelling and engineering wake models. Your work will support a measurement based validation benchmark and, depending on project priorities, a Round Robin test for future North Sea wind farm scenarios.

You will work with wind farm layouts, LiDAR and buoy measurements, model input data and simulation results. Together with Haskoning colleagues and European project partners, you will help create a transparent and reproducible comparison of different modelling approaches.

What you bring

You are curious about renewable energy and enjoy working carefully with data. You can structure an analysis, document your choices and communicate clearly with colleagues from different technical backgrounds. Previous experience with wake models is useful but not required.

• You are enrolled in a Master’s programme in wind energy, atmospheric science, physics, engineering, data science or a related field.
• You have experience with Python.
• You have an interest in offshore wind energy, atmospheric flow or numerical modelling.
• You communicate confidently in English and are available to start as soon as possible for a minimum duration of 4 months. The duration and weekly hours will be agreed together.
