Function: Procurement

Internship – Marketing Services Procurement

Balancing the analytic world of procurement with creativity of marketing has been an incredible learning experience at Heineken. Every day presents new challenges and opportunities for personal growth. – Zofia, former intern of the team

The internship

You may wonder what Marketing Procurement is. Great question!

Marketing procurement is the process of sourcing and managing external marketing services and resources, such as advertising agencies, media buying, and production services, with a focus on optimizing costs, quality, and value.

It involves negotiating contracts, ensuring efficient use of the marketing budget, and fostering strategic relationships to maximize ROI. The goal is to align marketing needs with financial and operational efficiency.

What does this Internship entail?

As a valued member of the overall Commerce, Professional and Business Services team, you will be working within the Marketing Services team. This will involve:

  • Supporting the Global Category Managers with translating global strategies into market plans and liaising with stakeholders in HGP, commerce teams, and markets worldwide.
  • Leading your own projects.
  • Supporting the teams in document writing and presentation.
  • Developing an understanding of marketing services categories such as ATL creative and production, media, shopper marketing, events, and sponsorships.
  • Possibility of negotiating some small scopes of work for brands.
  • Mapping current processes and designing future processes.
  • Benchmarking industry best practices.
  • Analyzing internal data and providing insights.

Your new team and workplace

You will be part of the Procurement department; however, we do not expect a procurement background or studies specifically.

Our key stakeholders are marketing teams, markets, and agencies. Note that there are no marketing tasks involved such as brand or media planning.

Depending on the needs and your capability, you could be working on specific projects across the wider department to maximize your growth and learning experience.

During your internship, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know HEINEKEN as an organization, not just within your own team, but across departments. We trust and empower you to work with an entrepreneurial mindset, welcoming fresh, new ideas.

We believe everyone has unique talents, which is why we’re looking for you! Energy, drive, and ambition to grow are what make the difference at HEINEKEN. In addition, you bring:

  • Currently in study for Master’s degree.
  • Experience with Power BI.
  • Strong skills using general Microsoft office tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with various stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working independently on tasks and at the same time be a team player.
  • Assertive, pragmatic, resilient, and a can‑do attitude.
  • Ability to work and adapt in a demanding and fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills.

For this role, we are looking for a candidate who has a willingness to learn and develop their skills and capabilities across communication, commercial, contracts, sustainability, and innovation.

Even if you feel you don’t meet all the criteria, we encourage you to apply. An internship is the perfect opportunity to learn and grow!
