Job description

Internship - Global Procurement Digital & Tech

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands

Function: Procurement

I came in expecting to learn - I left having actually delivered. From tracking millions in savings to co-pilot my first negotiation solo, this wasn't a support role. It was real accountability from day one. - former intern of the team

The internship

Are you someone who gets genuinely excited by a complex problem — and won't stop until you've cracked it? This internship sits at the heart of HEINEKEN's Global Procurement team, embedded in a high-stakes Technology & Transformation programme that is reshaping how one of the world's most iconic companies buys, builds and operates its digital landscape. You won't be taking notes in the background. You'll be in the room — analysing, challenging, influencing, and delivering. If you're analytically sharp, data driven, naturally curious, and the kind of person who goes beyond what's asked, this is where you belong.

What does this Internship entail?
  • Track and report team performance across Cost and Cash KPIs, turning data into actionable insights that drive real commercial decisions
  • Support Category Managers in the development and execution of strategic sourcing projects across Technology & Transformation categories
  • Work alongside Regional D&T teams to identify and unlock new procurement opportunities across markets
  • Take ownership of negotiations — from preparation to execution — with the possibility of running your own deals independently as you grow into the role
  • Engage senior stakeholders across functions and geographies, building the influence and communication skills that separate good procurement professionals from great ones
Your new team and workplace

At HEINEKEN Global Procurement, the Digital & Technology (D&T) Category sits at the core of the company's transformation agenda—managing how we source and partner for everything from IT infrastructure to consulting. We operate in a fast-paced, global environment, balancing cost, innovation, and risk across a complex supplier landscape. You'll join a small, high-impact team working directly with senior stakeholders and leading vendors to drive measurable business outcomes. What makes this internship unique is the level of ownership: from day one, you contribute to real projects, real negotiations, and real value delivery.

During your internship, you'll have every opportunity to get to know HEINEKEN as an organization, not just within your own team, but across departments. We trust and empower you to work with an entrepreneurial mindset. At HEINEKEN, we love bringing the outside world in and welcome fresh, new ideas with open arms. Of course, we'll make sure you get the guidance that suits you.

We believe everyone has unique talents, which is why we're looking for you! Energy, drive and the ambition to grow are what make the difference at HEINEKEN. In addition, you bring:

  • You're currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program
  • You're curious about how businesses, technology, or global companies operate
  • You're analytical and eager to learn by doing
  • Experience with Excel, Power BI, or data is a plus — but not required

Even if you feel you don't meet all the criteria, we encourage you to apply. An internship is the perfect opportunity to learn and grow!

Conditions of HEINEKEN
  • You are enrolled at an educational institution for the entire duration of your internship and can provide proof of enrollment for the current academic year during your onboarding.
  • In the case of non-EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution.
  • In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU.
  • You reside in the Netherlands for the entire duration of your internship. Please note that HEINEKEN does not provide housing.
  • You are in possession of a valid citizen service number (BSN).
Our Internship Conditions

During your time as an intern at HEINEKEN, you'll work in a dynamic environment where growing and learning are at the heart of everything we do. Together, we brew your future step by step. In addition, we offer you:

  • A full-time practice-oriented internship, starting on September 1, 2026
  • The duration of the internship is 5 or 6 months (to be agreed upon with your internship supervisor)
  • Your home office will be located in Amsterdam.
  • At HEINEKEN, we work with a hybrid model, typically spending three days a week at the office and two days working from home
  • You will receive a monthly internship allowance of €650 gross based on a 40-hour workweek
  • You will earn 2 vacation days per month (based on a full-time internship)
  • If you do not have a public transport student subscription, your commuting costs will be fully reimbursed

Every day we work with pride on our great products that you have certainly had in your hand at a party, during a work meeting or at home on the couch. HEINEKEN is much more than just beer. What about brands like Heineken 0.0, Apple Bandit, Amstel Radler and Birra Moretti. We actively work to create a pleasant work environment where everyone feels respected and has equal opportunities. Your personality, knowledge and skills are the success of our organization.
