Job summary

The Pharming Group invites you to join as Climate Risk & Resilience Intern in Leiden with remote work options for a 3-month engagement. You will help identify, assess, and manage climate-related risks across operations and the supply chain, contributing to long-term resilience planning.

Work with teams to apply frameworks like TCFD and climate scenarios, develop visuals and dashboards, and support ESG reporting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing degree in Environmental Science, Climate Policy, Sustainability, Risk Management, or related field.
• Familiar with climate risk frameworks (TCFD, IPCC) and ESG reporting.
• Strong analytical and research skills; GIS or climate data tools a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in climate risk assessments for physical and transition risks.
• Support scenario analysis using climate models and SSPs/RCPS.
• Map vulnerabilities across assets, operations, and supply chains.
• Develop resilience strategies and business continuity plans.
• Collaborate with operations, finance, procurement to gather data.
• Provide views on physical and transition risks, their severity/likelihood.
• Prepare visuals, dashboards, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive intern to support the identification, assessment, and management of climate-related risks across our operations and supply chain. This role will contribute to our long-term resilience strategy, helping the company align with frameworks such as the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and prepare for future climate scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting climate risk assessments, including physical risks (e.g., flooding, heatwaves) and transition risks (e.g., regulatory changes, carbon pricing).
• Support scenario analysis using climate models and socio-economic pathways (e.g., IPCC SSPs, RCPs).
• Help map vulnerabilities across assets, operations, and supply chains
• Contribute to the development of resilience strategies, including adaptation measures and business continuity planning.
• Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, finance, procurement) to gather data and align risk mitigation efforts.
• Providing a view as to the physical and transition risks, their identification and severity/likelihood assessment
• Prepare visualizations, dashboards, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Climate Policy, Sustainability, Risk Management, or related field.
• Familiarity with climate risk frameworks (e.g., TCFD, IPCC), climate modeling, and ESG reporting.
• Strong analytical and research skills; experience with GIS or climate data tools is a plus.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Interest in climate adaptation, resilience planning, and corporate sustainability.
