Job summary

JBT Marel, based in Boxmeer, Netherlands, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, commission and troubleshoot automated production lines across Europe and beyond. You will travel 50–60% of the time, stay away on extended trips, and work closely with customers to keep operations running smoothly.

The role requires a bachelor’s in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering, PLC experience, and strong English communication, with a hands-on, analytical troubleshooting mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with PLC-controlled systems.
• Ability to read basic Electrical schematics.
• Experience in industrial machinery or automated production.
• Practical, analytical troubleshooting approach.
• Good communication and customer orientation.
• Fluent in English.
• Willingness to travel internationally (50–60%).

Responsibilities

• Installing, commissioning and testing industrial machinery and production systems at customer sites.
• Troubleshooting faults involving electrical systems, PLC-controlled machinery and automation.
• Reading and interpreting basic electrical schematics to identify components and faults.
• Working with PLC-controlled systems without programming PLCs yourself.
• Carrying out service, maintenance and repair to ensure reliable machine performance.
• Supporting customers on-site and remotely, explaining technical issues and solutions.
• Collaborating with customers and international colleagues to complete service activities.
• Reporting technical findings and follow-up actions.
