Job summary

Focus Engineering B.V. is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to test, commission, and handover complex power distribution systems for large-scale hyperscale data center projects across Europe.

You will act as the on-site technical representative, ensuring safety, efficiency, and alignment with project requirements while collaborating with international teams and customers. Travel will be +80% of your time to clients within Europe; otherwise, you will be home-based.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Commissioning Engineer or similar.
• Strong experience with LV/MV switchgear and transformers.
• Willing to travel internationally +80% of the time and hold a valid driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning of MV/LV switchgear, transformers, and power distribution systems.
• Execute functional testing, fault-finding, and troubleshooting on protection, automation, and monitoring systems.
• Coordinate and supervise commissioning activities on-site at international project locations.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, planning, and project requirements throughout the commissioning phase.
• Preparing projects, creating technical documentation and providing practical customer training.

For a leading global technology and energy solutions provider, Focus Engineering is looking for a Commissioning Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for testing, commissioning, and delivering complex power distribution systems for large-scale data center projects that support the rapidly growing digital infrastructure sector.

Role overview

You will be responsible for the testing, commissioning, and handover of complex power distribution systems for large-scale hyperscale data center projects across Europe. Acting as the on-site technical representative, you will ensure systems are commissioned safely, efficiently, and in line with project requirements while collaborating with international teams and customers. For this position, you will travel +80% of your time to clients within Europe. The rest of your time you will be free at home.

Key responsibilities
