Opportunity
As an Internal Communications Specialist, you don't just write communications. You build how ILIAS communicates internally. ILIAS is growing rapidly with over 20+ nationalities. Teams are spread across locations and time zones. Change is part of working life. Communication can’t be ad hoc anymore. We need someone who sets the standard. Someone who works with stakeholders across the business to raise the level of internal communication from the ground up.
This role is part of the Marketing & Communications team. You’ll work closely with Marketing, the Change Facilitator, HR, Cluster Leads, and the Management Team. You’ll be visible, hands‑on, and embedded in how the company operates.
Location: Diegem, Belgium or Almere, The Netherlands. Travel: Regular between both offices, with occasional travel to overseas offices.
Your Mission
What you’ll do
- Strategy & Planning. Develop and lead an internal communications strategy that brings structure and consistency across the organization. Work closely with internal stakeholders, define key messages, channels, and communication rhythms aligned with business priorities and growth.
- Employee Engagement & Culture. Drive initiatives that strengthen engagement and connection across locations. Ensure communication supports a cohesive culture, with tailored approaches that work across teams, regions, and time zones. Lead communication around Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB), employee‑focused initiatives, and work with the Events Manager for internal event messaging.
- Content Creation & Delivery. Create compelling, employee‑focused content for internal channels such as email updates, newsletters, intranet, videos, presentations, podcasts, and town halls. Liaise with the Experience Center Manager to devise internal content for the Experience Center. Ensure content is consistent in tone, aligned with priorities, and easy to understand.
- Channel Management. Own and continually improve internal communication platforms (intranet/SharePoint, digital signage, internal email tools, Viva Engage). Set standards for how channels are used and ensure they support clear, relevant, and consistent communication.
- Manager Enablement. Equip managers with practical tools, templates, and guidance to communicate effectively with their teams. Drive a consistent approach to how information is cascaded across the organization.
- Change & Crisis Communication. Partner with the Change Facilitator, HR, and Leadership team to support change initiatives. Create clear, timely and empathetic communication. Ensure it supports understanding and adoption across the business.
- Measurement & Reporting. Monitor engagement and effectiveness of internal communication. Use insights and analytics to refine approaches, improve reach, and strengthen impact over time.
- Employer Branding (Internal Lens). Reinforce company identity and values through internal communication. Support a strong sense of alignment, pride, and ownership across the organization.
