Job summary

War Child Netherlands is seeking a motivated intern to support the Dutch Relief Alliance (DRA) account within the Institutional Funding team. The role is based in Amsterdam, with a hybrid mix of home and on-site work for a period from Sept 1, 2026 to Feb 19, 2027, minimum 5 months, 4 days a week.

You will contribute to programme development with country teams, including DR Congo, Syria and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, and help with proposals, meetings, and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Must be registered as a student at a Dutch educational institution for the full internship period.
  • Background in social or development studies (or a related field).
  • Experience with NGOs and/or humanitarian contexts is an advantage.
  • Proactive, eager to learn and able to take initiative.
  • Strong organisational skills, accuracy and comfort with administrative tasks.
  • Excellent written and spoken English (fluency required).

Responsibilities

  • Provide general DRA account management support: introduce structure and standardisation through trackers (reporting, IAAs, DCR, payments), annual action plans, checklists, meeting scheduling, minute taking and action follow up.
  • Support preparation, review and filing of Inter Agency Agreements (IAAs), Grant Agreements and Sub Grant Agreements.
  • Support Rafiki data quality checks for DRA reporting.
  • Maintain and close project documentation and folders; ensure accurate filing.
  • Ensure quarterly meetings take place; collect and file required information; set agendas.
  • Support specific Joint Responses (JRs) as needed: Syria JR, Gaza JR, Ukraine JR and other unforeseen tasks.
  • Support EWWG activities and ACM launches.
  • Help prepare materials for Partners Meetings.
  • Assist with proposal development for new PCJRs.
  • Support internal training activities and draft internal memos.
  • Help with report reviewing and quality checks.
  • If time allows, broaden the portfolio to support other accounts.
