Job summary

IFF welcomes a passionate Bioscience intern to join our Home & Fabric Care team in Leiden for a full-time internship of at least six months starting January 2027. You will conduct enzyme-focused experiments in dish detergent formulations, gain hands-on experience with detergent formulations, and analyze data to drive sustainable cleaning solutions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BSc or MSc in biotechnology, biochemical engineering, biotechnology engineering, chemical engineering or biochemistry.
• Available full-time for at least 6 months starting January 2027.
• Strong interest in enzymes, biotechnology and home care applications.
• Hands-on mindset with enthusiasm for laboratory work and experimentation.
• Analytical approach to problem-solving and data interpretation.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Detail-oriented and able to work accurately in a laboratory environment.
• Proactive attitude with the ability to work independently while meeting project objectives.
• Strong collaboration skills and willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory experiments to evaluate enzyme performance in dish detergent formulations.
• Prepare, test, and analyze detergent formulations containing enzymes.
• Support research projects focused on how formulation components impact enzyme performance.
• Generate, document, and interpret experimental results and technical data.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and contribute to reporting activities.
• Collaborate with scientists and application specialists on ongoing development projects.
• Learn and apply industry-standard laboratory techniques and best practices.
• Support troubleshooting activities and propose improvements based on experimental findings.
