Job summary
Fooditive is seeking an on-site Biotechnology R&D & Technical Support Intern in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The role focuses on supporting biotechnology development across strain engineering, fermentation, downstream processing and collaboration with external partners.
The internship runs 32 hours per week for 6 months with a monthly allowance of €550. You will assist planning, reviewing and documenting activities, organize experimental information, and help prepare technical instructions for
Qualifications
- You are pursuing or have completed a degree in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Bioprocess Engineering or related fields.
- Foundational knowledge of recombinant protein expression and microbial biotechnology.
- Familiarity with molecular biology concepts including cloning and plasmids.
- Basic understanding of microbial fermentation and downstream processing.
Responsibilities
- Support review and organization of strain-development programmes.
- Work with documentation related to DNA sequences, plasmid maps and microbial systems.
- Help prepare experimental plans and technical instructions for external labs.
- Organise and compare fermentation conditions, process parameters and results.
- Support review of media, expression strategies and process variables.
- Summarise partner fermentation data and overall performance across runs.
