Job summary

PhotonVentures invites applications for an Intern in Deeptech / Integrated Photonics. The position is based in Hilversum, the Netherlands, and requires Dutch and English fluency.

The role emphasizes market research, investment strategy support, and operational improvements within a growing photonics venture fund. We offer a flexible start date, a minimum 4-month engagement (part or full time), and a competitive internship allowance with travel reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Previous internship experience or interest in deep tech startups, venture capital investments, M&A, or strategy consulting.

• Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and verbal.

Role (part time or full time)
As our Intern, you'll play a crucial role in:

• Market research:
  Lead sector analysis, understanding market trends, and keeping abreast of technological advancements.
• Investment strategy and management:
  Assessing potential investments through comprehensive due diligence and managing an ever-evolving portfolio.
• Operational improvements:
  Projects that enhance the internal organisation ensuring best in class investment operations.

Qualifications, key skills and competencies

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Master's degree or PhD with a focus on physics, photonics, electrical engineering, or other scientific disciplines.
• Previous internship experience or a demonstrated interest in deep technology startups, venture capital investments, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), or strategy consulting.
• Able to start in Q1, exact starting date is flexible.
• Available for a minimum of 4 months (full time).

Required skills:

• Fluent in both Dutch and English, both in verbal and written communication.
• A strong foundation in science, technology, or artificial intelligence is considered a distinct asset.
• Robust analytical abilities.
• Ability to adapt to dynamic scenarios, such as changing investment performance, financing needs, and varying investor groups.
