East Carolina University Portal is seeking an Interlibrary Loan Assistant to support Joyner’s Interlibrary Loan department in processing physical and electronic materials for ECU students, staff, faculty and partner libraries worldwide.

Responsibilities include sorting packages, preparing materials for patrons, pulling items, scanning to PDFs, and using ILLiad and other library tools to fulfill requests while ensuring copyright compliance. Flexible scheduling suits students.

Qualifikationen

• Must be a current ECU student.
• GPA minimum of 2.0.
• Regular schedule 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday; no weekends.
• Attention to detail is essential.

Aufgaben

• Open and sort incoming packages from USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.
• Prepare materials for patron use and packaging for shipping.
• Pull physical items from across the library’s collections.
• Scan books/journals to create PDFs.
• Process requests using ILLiad and other library software.
• Locate articles from electronic holdings and share with patrons while respecting licenses.
• Assist with additional tasks such as shelving checks and organizing supplies.
