Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an Interim Head of Information Security in the Netherlands to own and drive security strategy across engineering and operations. The role focuses on secure-by-design practices, risk management, and practical safeguards, with oversight of PCI-DSS and SOC 2 compliance.

You will lead a small team, collaborate with Engineering, Legal, and Compliance, and contribute to build-versus-buy decisions while promoting a culture of accountability and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of professional experience in information security.
• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with software development organizations and modern apps/platforms.
• Background in information security or security engineering (cloud/SaaS).
• Familiarity with PCI-DSS and SOC 2 or equivalent compliance approaches.
• Experience handling sensitive payment data is advantageous.
• English fluency; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve the organization’s information security posture with KPIs.
• Define and evolve security strategy aligned with business priorities.
• Partner with Engineering to embed security in SDLC and operations.
• Establish pragmatic security standards, policies, and guardrails.
• Prepare for regulatory/audit requirements (PCI-DSS, SOC 2) with scalable controls.
• Strengthen threat detection and response with logging, monitoring, and alerts.
• Evaluate security technologies aligned with architecture and workflows.
• Advise stakeholders and represent the organization with customers and auditors.
• Lead and develop a small security team.
