Job summary

Riverflex is seeking a senior data engineer to migrate a central data platform from Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric. You will own end-to-end roadmap items, coach a growing team, and ensure quality across CI/CD, testing and deployment.

You will design dimensional models, manage the SQL data warehouse on Azure SQL and Fabric, and translate business requirements into technical specs, while working in a hybrid Rotterdam-based setup.

Qualifications

• 7+ years as a data engineer building and running a data platform in Azure.
• 5+ years of dimensional data modelling, SQL and PySpark notebooks.
• Hands-on with lakehouse architecture and medallion principles.
• Track record delivering in complex environments with multiple sources and stakeholders.
• Experience standardising workflows with Azure DevOps, Git and CI/CD.
• Experience in agile teams, translating epics into features and guiding user stories.

Responsibilities

• Migrate the platform from Synapse to Microsoft Fabric, updating pipelines and data models.
• Own one or more roadmap priorities including performance, cost, data quality and monitoring.
• Build and maintain scalable pipelines and PySpark notebooks across lakehouse layers.
