Job summary

ING seeks an experienced Insider Threat Security Threat Analysis Expert to design and implement ING’s new global Insider Threat programme. You will lead threat detection, UEBA, governance and stakeholder engagement within the Cyber Threat Management (CTM) team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Do you want to be at the forefront of protecting a global financial institution against sophisticated cyber threats? As an Insider Threat Security Threat Analysis Expert at ING, you will play a key role in the design and implementation of ING’s new global Insider Threat programme.

This is a senior position for an experienced cybersecurity professional who combines knowledge of threat detection and security analytics with strong stakeholder management and a solid understanding of the European financial services regulatory environment.

The team

You will join ING’s Cyber Threat Management (CTM) team, a central capability within the CISO domain focused on intelligence-driven, proactive defence.

The team works closely with Security Operations, Incident Response, Fraud, IT and senior leadership across the bank. The working environment is collaborative, analytical and outcome-driven, combining deep technical expertise with strategic thinking to help ING stay ahead of emerging cyber threats in a rapidly changing geopolitical and digital landscape.

Your role

As a Security Threat Analysis Expert, you will play a pivotal role in the design and implementation of the Insider Threat programme, with a strong focus on threat detection, monitoring, User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA), governance, tool evaluation and stakeholder engagement.

Your responsibilities include:

Insider Threat Programme
  • Coordinate stakeholder workshops and interviews to gather requirements.
  • Support the development of policies, procedures and playbooks.
  • Contribute to programme tracking, reporting and continuous improvement.

  • Support the design and implementation of Insider Threat governance, including steering committees and expert groups.
  • Support the development of policies and standards for the Insider Threat programme.

What you bring

For this senior position, we are looking for someone with:

  • 6–10 years of experience with cybersecurity principles, ideally within Insider Threat and/or Detection.
  • Experience with detection tools, such as UEBA, SIEM or security analytics tools.
  • Experience and knowledge of the European financial services regulatory environment.
  • Experience working with HR and Legal stakeholders.
  • Understanding of governance, compliance and privacy frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and structured thinking skills.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
What we offer
  • A salary range of €5,677.70 to €6,504.00 gross per month, based on 36 hours per week and depending on experience.
  • Additional benefits, including holiday allowance, a 13th-month payment and pension contribution.
  • Freelance (ZZP) is also possible, with a maximum hourly rate of €96.
  • Hybrid working, with an expectation of being in the office on average two days per week.

We are looking for someone who is currently based in the Netherlands and available to start at short notice.
