Job summary

SIRE LIFE SCIENCES is seeking an Innovation Laboratory Technician to support prototype development and quality assurance in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

You will collaborate with the R&D team to create prototypes, manage testing processes, and ensure product quality across development stages, with opportunities to work on international packaging projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or related technical field.
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.
• Experience in pilot plant or product development is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to walk the plant, stand for long periods and lift up to 25 kg.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing rapid prototypes for new products and packaging concepts.
• Support product and packaging developers in crafting samples in development kitchen and pilot plant.
• Ensure prototypes comply with GMP, HACCP, and quality management protocols.
• Conduct lab tests and trials during product development phases.
• Collaborate with external partners for nutrition analysis and other testing services.
• Lead shelf life studies and coordinate domestic and international logistics for samples.

Role Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Innovation Laboratory Technician to support our product development and quality assurance efforts. This role involves working closely with the R&D team to create prototypes, manage testing processes, and ensure product quality in a fast‑paced, innovative environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing rapid prototypes for new products and packaging concepts in line with project timelines.
• Support product and packaging developers in crafting samples within the development kitchen and pilot plant.
• Ensure all prototypes comply with global standards, including good manufacturing practices (GMP), HACCP, and quality management protocols.
• Conduct lab tests and trials during product development phases.
• Collaborate with external partners for nutrition analysis and other testing services.
• Lead shelf life studies and coordinate domestic and international logistics for sample sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related technical field.
• Fluent in English; Dutch language skills are a plus.
• Some experience working in a pilot plant or product development environment preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to walk throughout the plant, work on multiple levels, stand for long periods, and lift up to 25 kg.
