CDH Professionals in the Netherlands is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure, reliable infrastructure across Linux, virtualization, and networking. You will work in a complex environment supporting mission-critical systems and services.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as an IT Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Engineer, Linux Engineer, Windows Server Engineer, or a similar role.
• Strong expertise in Linux administration, particularly RHEL and Ubuntu.
• Extensive experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper‑V, and OpenShift.
• Knowledge of Windows Server administration is considered an advantage.
• Solid understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM), FreeIPA, Group Policy, permissions management, or similar technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize secure IT infrastructure solutions.
• Build, configure, integrate, and validate server environments.
• Configure and maintain secure remote access solutions, including jump servers, stepping stones, and bastion hosts.
• Manage, patch, and harden Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments.
• Administer and optimize virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper‑V, and OpenShift.
• Support the integration of DNS, NTP, authentication, AAA, logging, and monitoring services.
• Provide technical support for critical infrastructure and management systems.
• Perform configuration, security, failover, and continuity testing.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, server, network, and integration‑related issues.
• Collaborate with architects, vendors, and technical specialists to deliver robust end‑to‑end solutions.
• Contribute to solution designs with a focus on operational excellence, maintainability, and security.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, configuration standards, and test reports.
• Support the handover of systems and knowledge to operational and support teams

Your Background

• Strong expertise in Linux administration, particularly RHEL and Ubuntu.

• Knowledge of Windows Server administration is considered an advantage.

• Good knowledge of TCP/IP networking, subnetting, routing, DNS, NTP, and network segmentation.
• Experience with secure remote access solutions, including jump servers and bastion hosts.
• Proven experience with server configuration, patch management, system hardening, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with enterprise servers, storage solutions, and datacenter infrastructure.
• Knowledge of security‑by‑design principles, least‑privilege access, logging, and access control.
• Basic understanding of monitoring and logging platforms.
• Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.
