Job summary

IMI plc is seeking an Electronics Hardware Engineer (Industrial IoT) to design and validate hardware for hazardous environments, supporting wireless sensing and connectivity across oil, gas, chemicals and heavy industry.

You will own electronic designs from concept to production, including schematic and PCB layouts in Altium, radio integration and sensor development, and collaborate with firmware, mechanical and systems engineers in a Scrum-based team; ensure robust, compliant hardware with

Qualifications

Bachelor's level degree in electronics or a related field.
Several years of experience in electronics hardware development.
Experience with low-power Industrial IoT hardware.
Proficient in Altium for schematic capture and PCB layout.

Responsibilities

Develop hardware designs for Industrial IoT products from requirements to implementation.
Create schematics and PCB layouts in Altium, including radio transceiver and sensor designs.
Plan and execute verification activities and maintain clear documentation (BOMs, changes).
Design with ATEX / IECEx considerations and support compliance activities.
Collaborate with firmware, mechanical and systems engineers in a Scrum-based environment.
Optionally take ownership of small-scale project coordination.
