Job summary

Picnic is seeking a Legal Assistant - German-speaking to join our Amsterdam HQ. You will support the in-house legal team on a variety of contracts and regulatory matters, while gaining hands-on experience across business functions.

You should have completed the First State Examination in German law or be close to it, be fluent in English and German, and be ready for a 4–6 month placement in Amsterdam. A proactive, analytical mindset is essential to help move projects forward.

Qualifications

• First State Examination in German law or near to it.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Available for 4–6 months, ideally 4–5 days a week in Amsterdam.
• Proactive and hands-on: take initiative and contribute to the team.
• Analytically strong with the ability to translate insights into practical advice.
• Cross-functional exposure or business/corporate focus is a plus.
• Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivated to help build Picnic’s legal function.

Responsibilities

• Handle a variety of tasks beyond law studies, including leveraging AI to improve legal processes.
• Take ownership of legal projects from start to finish, from ad hoc matters to cross-functional initiatives.
• Translate complex legal assessments into actionable business steps.
• Review, draft and negotiate a range of commercial contracts.
• Collaborate with Finance, Marketing, Commercial, Customer Success and Operations.
