Job summary

BDP International in Rotterdam seeks an experienced Ocean Import Operations professional to handle planning, booking, and transportation of ocean imports. You will coordinate shipments, process orders, manage customs documentation, and provide clear feedback to customers, while ensuring KPI targets are met.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience handling ocean import shipments.
• 1–3 years of experience in a customer service environment.
• Good communication and organizational skills required.
• Must be a strong team player.
• PC literate with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, book, and coordinate ocean import shipments.
• Coordinate and follow up on shipment progress and order processing.
• Prepare import documents for customs processing.
• Provide feedback to customers via various reporting methods.
• Report non-conformances per KPI guidelines.
• Collaborate with approved subcontractors per agreed rates.
• End-to-end processing and documentation of shipments.

• Planning / Booking / Transportation of Ocean Import orders
• Coordination/follow up of the shipment - order processing management
• Customs processing (preparing import documents for customs )
• Feedback to the customer (internal and external reporting of the shipments to the customer) by various means
• Non-conformance reporting in accordance with the KPI’s.
• Cooperation with approved subcontractors in accordance with agreed rates
• End to end processing
• Punctual and flawless order handling and documentation

Job Requirements

• The ideal candidate hastwo (2) to three (3) years of experience handlingocean import shipment
• Prefer at least one (1) to three (3) years of experience in a customer service type environment.
• A college degree is preferred but not required.
• Good knowledge of Dutch and English is mandatory
• Good communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills required.
• Candidate must possess a strong team work attitude.
• Candidate must be PC literate with MS Office applications.
