Job summary

Air Products Inc. is seeking a Production Engineer to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations at the Botlek site in Rotterdam. You will coordinate operational activities, work with the Plant Supervisor and Operations team, and contribute to continuous improvement across the site.

The role offers broad operational scope and opportunities to develop technical and leadership skills within a complex industrial environment, with involvement in hydrogen and energy transition projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering required.
• Experience in commissioning and operations, production, or engineering in chemical/industrial gas/refinery/oil & gas.
• Experience with hydrogen, syngas, CO, ammonia, or similar large-scale processes.
• Ability to work with operators, maintenance, engineers, contractors, customers, and stakeholders.
• Good computer skills; SAP experience advantageous.
• Strong Dutch and English communication skills.
• Structured, hands-on approach with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support daily plant operations to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient production.
• Solve operational, process, and equipment-related issues.
• Coordinate activities with maintenance and engineering teams.
• Monitor plant performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Lead and support productivity and reliability initiatives.
• Participate in Management of Change (MOC) processes.
• Support audits, inspections, and compliance activities.
• Coordinate follow-up actions from incident investigations.
• Work with customers on technical and supply-related matters.
• Support commissioning and start-up activities for new installations and projects.
• Act as deputy for the Plant Supervisor when required.
