Job summary

Air Products in Rotterdam is seeking a Production Engineer to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations at the Botlek site. You will collaborate with the Plant Supervisor and Operations to drive plant performance, coordinate activities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across a large-scale facility.

This role offers broad operational responsibility and the chance to develop technical and leadership capabilities in a complex industrial environment, including hydrogen

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering is required.
• Significant experience in commissioning and operations, production, or engineering within chemical/industrial gas/oil & gas industries.
• Experience with hydrogen, syngas, ammonia or similar large-scale chemical processes.
• Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.
• Structured, hands-on approach with strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
• Safety-focused with ownership and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support daily plant operations to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient production.
• Solve operational, process, and equipment-related issues.
• Coordinate activities with maintenance and engineering teams.
• Monitor plant performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Lead and support productivity and reliability initiatives.
• Participate in Management of Change (MOC) processes.
• Support audits, inspections, and compliance activities.
• Coordinate follow-up actions from incident investigations.
• Work closely with customers on technical and supply-related matters.
• Support commissioning and start-up activities for new installations and projects.
• Act as deputy for the Plant Supervisor when required.
