Job summary

Rambus is hiring an ASIC Security Engineer in the Netherlands (Vught or Rotterdam). You will architect and develop security IPs such as post-quantum crypto accelerators and RNGs, reporting to the Security Engineering Manager.

The role involves collaboration across hardware and software teams to enable secure crypto cores and ensure certification readiness. The position offers a hybrid work model with an average of three days onsite and up to two days remote work, plus Rambus’ competitive

Qualifications

  • MS/PhD in electrical or computer engineering required.
  • 4+ years working on secure hardware design; PhD may substitute for experience.
  • Proficiency in Verilog or VHDL and digital design.
  • Familiarity with front-end ASIC design flows: design, synthesis, timing, LA/LEC, linting/rule checking.
  • Expertise in cryptographic algorithms and side-channel attacks.
  • Experience with back-end flows, especially place-and-route.
  • DFT techniques, testing and characterization, or Logic BIST.
  • Hardware development in UNIX/Linux environments, including shell scripting and Perl/Python.

Responsibilities

  • Research, invent and patent/publish new techniques in security.
  • Collaborate with system architects to contribute to crypto core architecture and design.
  • Cooperate with software, product managers, security experts and stakeholders to support current and next-generation security products and certifications.
  • Drive design improvements for quality and safety of Rambus products.
  • Ensure delivered products and documentation adhere to Rambus quality and safety standards.

Candidates will be joining some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world to develop products that make data faster and safer.


As anASICSecurityEngineer,you’ll play a pivotal role inarchitecting and developing security IPs includingpost-quantum crypto accelerators, randomnumbergeneratorsandvarious other crypto cores.In this full-time role, you’ll report directly to ourSecurity Engineering Manager.Silicon IP teamis dedicated todesign with Rambus’s quality standardandawareness of safety and securitywhilemaintainingthe high configurability of the product.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely withthesystemarchitectstocontribute to thearchitecture anddesign ofvarious crypto cores.

  • Cooperate with thesoftwareteam,productmanagers,security expertsand other stakeholderstosupportthecurrent andnext generation securityproductsand their certification effort.

  • Drivedesignimprovementsfor continuousproduct quality and safety.

  • Assurethe delivered productand documentationadheres to Rambus qualityand safetystandards.

Qualifications

  • Experience/Skills

  • MS/PhDdegree in electrical or computer engineering required.

  • 4plus years workingonsecure hardware design, a PhD degree may substitute the work experience requirement

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Verilog/(or VHDL)and digital design.

  • Familiarity with front-end ASIC design flows, including design, synthesis, timing analysis, logical equivalence checking, and linting/rule checking

  • Expertise in some or all of the following areas is beneficial:

  • Cryptographic algorithms and side-channel attacks

  • Experience with back-end flows, especially place-and-route

  • DFT, especially testing and characterization and/or Logic BIST methodologies.

  • Hardware development experience in UNIX/Linux environments, including supporting tasks such as shell scripting and basic Perl scripts.
