Job summary

Ramboll in Rotterdam seeks an Electrical Engineer specialising in High Voltage underground cable systems. Join a team of HV/MV/LV specialists delivering offshore wind, energy transition, and international projects.

Your role includes design reviews, routing, and installation strategy across global sites. The ideal candidate has a university degree in Electrical Engineering and 2+ years of underground HV cable system design experience, with Cymcap proficiency and English fluency.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.
2+ years in underground HV cable system route design, civil works and installation (66kV–400kV).
Experience with Cymcap or other cable rating software.
Experience with international and local cable standards.
Fluent in English; Dutch and German a plus.
Experience with cable accessories is a plus.
Junior/graduated candidates with cable design experience welcome.

Responsibilities

Review project documents, perform gap analyses, and prepare technical reports.
Client and third-party management (civil, substation, crossing, etc).
Conduct cable rating and thermal calculations.
Underground cable routing, bonding design, and interface with joints and civil works.
Develop cable installation strategy (direct burial, HDD, drilling).
Site visits during installation and commissioning; test inspections; travel abroad as needed.
Prepare inspection and test plans; evaluate results and address non-conformities.
