Job summary

Ramboll GCC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Power Systems team and contribute to HV cable design projects across international energy transition initiatives. You will work on offshore wind, direct burial, HDD, and installation strategies, interfacing with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

The role offers development opportunities in a global engineering environment, with travel for site visits and factory inspections.

Qualifications

• Completed university degree in Electrical Engineering.
• +2 years’ experience in underground HV cable route design, civil works and installation (66KV–400KV).
• Experience with Cymcap or similar cable rating software.
• Experience with international and local standards for cable systems.
• Fluent in English; Dutch and German are a plus.
• Junior candidates with cable system design exposure considered.

Responsibilities

• Review project documents, perform gap analysis, and prepare technical reports.
• Client and third-party management (civil, substation, crossing, etc).
• Cable rating and thermal calculations.
• Underground cable bonding design and interface assessment with transition bays, substations, and civil works.
• Underground cable route development and installation strategy (direct burial, HDD and drilling, crossing design).
• Site visits before and during installation, commissioning support, and factory tests (travel may be required).
• Prepare inspection and test plans, review test results, and address non-conformities during manufacturing, installation and commissioning.

Your new role

As our newElectrical Engineer, you will join a team of more than 50 passionate and high performing HV, MV and LV specialists working predominantly within the global Energy industry. We are particularly focused on offshore wind, power-t-X, carbon capture and energy transition projects. We cover all phases of project delivery including concept and feasibility studies, detailed engineering, EPC and follow‑on engineering on international projects.

Your key role will be:

• Reviewing project documents, gap analysis, and preparing technical reports
• Client and third party management ( civil, substation, crossing, etc)
• Cable rating and thermal calculations
• Underground cable bonding design, jointing arrangement, assessing interface with transition joint bay, substation, and civil works
• Underground cable rote development and installation strategy (e.g. direct burial, HDD and drilling, crossing design)
• Site visit prior and during installation, commissioning support, cable factory visit and test inspection during cable manufacturing (traveling abroad may require)
• Preparation of inspection and test plan, reviewing and evaluating of the test results, and involving in non-conformalities during manufacturing, installation and commissioning

Your new team

You will be part of the Power Systems department at Ramboll GCC, where we support our clients on due diligence, permitting, compliance (audit), management systems and a wide variety of other EHS projects internationally. We work on challenging projects together with colleagues around the world from our Environmental and Health Division, and with other Ramboll Divisions.

• Experience in Cymcap or other cable rating software
• Experience in working with cable related international and local standards
• Fluent in English. Dutch and German languages are big plus to deal with local clients
• Experience in cable accessories is a plus
• Junior/ graduated candidates with cable system design experience during bachelor/master are welcome to apply.
