Job summary

Dragonfly Shipping NL B.V. is seeking an experienced operations leader to oversee daily warehousing activities, ensure safety compliance, and drive efficient processes across the station.

You will manage staff, coordinate with internal teams, handle inventory control, and generate performance reports to support on-time deliveries and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with Health & Safety protocols and maintain a hazard-free work environment. Enforce safe working methods and conduct safety audits and operations checks.
• Operations Management: Supervise day-to-day operations, implement policies to improve efficiency, and manage station budget and controllable costs.
• Staff Management & Development: Conduct reviews with independent contractors, provide training, mentor the team, and manage schedules for adequate coverage.
• Customer & Stakeholder Relations: Address inquiries and complaints promptly, coordinate with other departments, and update upper management as needed.
• Inventory & Asset Management: Oversee stock levels, implement loss prevention, conduct audits, and coordinate with Loss Prevention for incidents.
• Reporting & Data Management: Maintain logs and daily reports, evaluate performance, and ensure accurate records.

Core Duties

• Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with Health & Safety protocols and maintain a hazard-free work environment. Enforce safe working methods and behaviors within the team. Conduct safety audits and operations checks. Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies. Make sure everyone meets safety standards and respond quickly to requests for changes and unforeseen events. Respond to emergencies as required.
• Operations Management Supervise day-to-day operations and provide feedback and ways to improve in OPS. Implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency. Monitor and manage the station's budget to ensure financial efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Monitor and manage the station's controllable margin by tracking and analyzing controllable costs and revenues (e.g., staff scheduling, sort cost). Plan and oversee onboarding activities for new employees to ensure a smooth transition. Monitor and maintain station facilities and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition. Ensure warehouse cleanliness and organization.
• Staff Management & Development Conduct regular reviews with Independent Delivery Contractors (IDCs) to assess performance (QAR), address concerns, and discuss improvements. Provide training and development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and ensure they are up-to-date with company policies and procedures. Mentor and support the team. Manage and coordinate station staff and schedules to ensure adequate coverage. Conduct regular station audits and performance evaluations for staff and provide feedback to help them improve and grow in their roles.
• Customer & Stakeholder Relations Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that arise. Communicate regularly with upper management to provide updates and discuss improvements and cascade any changes down the chain.
• Inventory & Asset Management Oversee inventory levels and ensure that all materials and supplies are adequately stocked and accounted for. Implement and oversee loss prevention strategies to safeguard company assets, packages, and other goods. Conduct regular audits, monitor for theft or fraud, and ensure all undelivered parcels are returned to the station at the end of the day. In case of suspected theft, initiate investigations and coordinate with the Loss Prevention department and IDC relationship manager.
• Reporting & Data Management Maintain accurate logs (delivery, incident, inventory) and daily reports. Prepare and monitor performance reports (on-time deliveries, exceptions, etc.). Perform data entry as needed to maintain accurate records. Evaluate and assess employee performance, workplace conduct and compliance as required, including discipline where appropriate. Cleaning, general housekeeping. Other duties as assigned. Sending packages should be simple.
