Job summary

HSO International is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain modern data platforms using Microsoft technologies in Amsterdam. Your focus will be on data engineering, platform development, integration, scalability, security and data enablement.

The role requires five years of experience with the Microsoft Data Stack, hands-on Data Engineer experience with Microsoft Fabric, and strong SQL and Python skills. Collaborate with global teams across time zones on cross-border projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience with the Microsoft Data Stack.
• At least one year of hands‑on Data Engineer experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• Proven track record designing enterprise data platforms.
• Strong SQL expertise.
• Strong Python development skills.
• Experience with Azure-based data services and cloud data architectures.
• Hands‑on notebooks and infrastructure-as-code experience.
• Experience implementing Medallion and Lakehouse architectures.
• Experience building production-grade data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable enterprise data platforms.
• Develop and optimize end-to-end data pipelines from multiple source systems to analytical and operational data stores.
• Implement solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Databricks (nice to have).
• Integrate Dynamics 365 data and other enterprise systems into centralized data platforms.
• Ensure reliable data flows between source and target systems.
• Build data products and datasets ready for reporting, dashboards, analytics, and AI use cases.
• Maintain high standards of data quality, integrity, governance, and performance.
• Apply modern data architecture principles, including Medallion and Lakehouse architectures.
• Work with notebooks and infrastructure-as-code approaches to automate deployments.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Consultants, and client stakeholders to deliver data platform solutions.
• Contribute to best practices and continuous improvement within the Data & AI practice.
