Job summary

Quaker Houghton in the Netherlands is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner for our EMEA headquarters in Uithoorn, to support colleagues and local operations. The role combines hands-on HR duties across office-based and manufacturing teams, focusing on employment relations, recruitment collaboration, policy guidance, and a proactive drive to improve documentation and HR processes.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5-7 years of experience in an HR Advisor, HR Generalist, HR Manager, or similar role.
• Strong, practical knowledge of Dutch labour law.
• Experience working with a Works Council.
• Prior experience in recruitment is highly desirable, including partnering with hiring managers and supporting end-to-end hiring processes.
• Experience supporting operational or manufacturing environments is an advantage.
• A hands-on and pragmatic approach, with the ability to manage operational HR topics independently.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders in a constructive and professional manner.
• Dutch and English (professional proficiency)

• Supporting recruitment activities in collaboration with Talent Acquisition and external partners
• Acting as a key point of contact for a diverse workforce across different employee groups
• Advising managers on Dutch labour law and internal HR policies
• Collaborating with the Works Council
• Reviewing and updating HR documentation, including the employee handbook
• Identifying opportunities to improve HR processes and enhance structure in documentation and practices
• Contributing to a positive employee experience by being a visible and approachable HR partner

Tasks

What will you do?

You will act as a hands-on HR Business Partner, supporting both office-based teams and operational functions such as Supply Chain and Laboratory.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing day-to-day HR support and guidance to managers and employees
• Managing employee relations matters, including absence, performance, and disciplinary cases
• Supporting recruitment activities in collaboration with Talent Acquisition and external partners
• Acting as a key point of contact for a diverse workforce across different employee groups

Requirements
