Job summary

The Usual Rotterdam is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead the housekeeping team, maintain daily cleaning standards, and ensure rooms and public areas are spotless, welcoming, and ready for guests. You’ll roll up your sleeves, lead by example, and coordinate with the Housekeeping Manager to keep operations smooth.

You’ll work closely with Front Office and other departments, guiding colleagues, assigning tasks, and mentoring new team members while maintaining high hygiene and presentation

Qualifications

• 1–2 years housekeeping experience, preferably in a hotel.
• Ability to guide colleagues on the floor and assist with daily cleaning tasks.
• Eye for detail and pride in high cleaning standards.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to divide tasks and adjust priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example: supervise the housekeeping team during your shift; provide clear instructions and support colleagues.
• Distribute daily cleaning assignments, monitor progress, and adjust priorities to ensure rooms are ready on time.
• Inspect cleaned guest rooms and public areas, identify issues, and ensure cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Be hands-on: assist with cleaning rooms and public areas during busy shifts.
• Stay connected: keep Front Office updated on room status and report maintenance issues.
• Support colleagues: mentor new team members and provide practical guidance on the floor.
• Keep things organized: ensure trolleys, linen, supplies, and equipment are ready; report shortages or damages.
• Solve issues on the spot: handle day-to-day problems and escalate complex cases to the Housekeeping Manager.
• Do good: follow hygiene, safety, and sustainability standards and promote responsible use of products, water and energy.
