Job summary

WLG in The Hague, Netherlands, seeks an infrastructure-as-a-service engineer to manage day-to-day hosting services, virtualization, storage and the physical data centre.

You will support senior technicians, engineers and service delivery managers across design, engineering, implementation, operation and integration, while maintaining virtual environments and physical infrastructure and ensuring security and ITIL practices.

Qualifications

• Five years of related experience with MSc or seven years with BSc.
• Deep data-centre concepts: servers, storage, virtualization, backup/restore.
• Hands-on VMware vSphere 7+ with blade/rack servers; knowledge of VCF.
• Networking and storage fundamentals: SAN, NAS, iSCSI, FC, TCP/IP.
• Windows Server and Red Hat Linux administration.
• IT asset and configuration management; ITIL practices.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day operation and maintenance of hosting services.
• Support senior technicians across design, engineering, and delivery.
• Administer and maintain virtual infrastructure and platforms.
• Install, manage and run common user services over networks.
• Conduct daily data-centre hardware checks and replace failing parts.
• Keep topology diagrams and configuration database updated.
• Troubleshoot data-centre issues and document work.
• Advise on full lifecycle of capabilities; monitor SLAs.
• Write operating procedures and runbooks.
